2.55 Software FAQ Nov 2004 to March 1 2007

October 9 2008 Reverse Portal and PPP Client Support

A point release update is now available for installation over version 3.01 Release firmware. This update enables any IP address range to local account allocations for PPP Authentication requests, direct support is available for PPPoE and PPTP client subscribers, configuration files that support off-loading PPPoE and L2TP to Allied Telesis products are available. Support for reverse portal client subscribers is included in this update along with a few other minor updates.

Update for the Web GUI Account Off function

The Web GUI Account Off function can now remove access for either or both of a VLAN and any specific IP assigned to an account, previously this function only removed a VLAN. The manual Account Off function is rarely used, if your installation does use this function and you require the update for an older version of firmware please
contact support here Note that the Account Close function being the expected way to manually close a subscribers service does remove any assigned VLAN or IP. This update can be installed onto any 3.01 Release systems.
