October 9 2008 Reverse Portal and PPP Client Support
A point release update is now available for installation over version 3.01 Release firmware.
This update enables any IP address range to local account allocations for PPP Authentication requests,
direct support is available for PPPoE and PPTP client subscribers, configuration files that support
off-loading PPPoE and L2TP to Allied Telesis products are available.
Support for reverse portal client subscribers is included in this update along with a few other minor
updates.

Update for the Web GUI Account Off function
The Web GUI Account Off function can now remove access for either or both of a VLAN and
any specific IP assigned to an account, previously this function only removed a VLAN.
The manual Account Off function is rarely used, if your installation does use this
function and you require the update for an older version of firmware please contact support here
Note that the Account Close function being the expected way to manually close a subscribers
service does remove any assigned VLAN or IP.
This update can be installed onto any 3.01 Release systems.

Release 3.01's most noticable feature is a clean new look to the Web GUI, this release is now
shipping on all new systems and is available as an update over 3.00a4b2 version software, the main
new features are listed below

July 12 2008 Name Server Security Update for all systems
This update resolves all known current security issues with the local name server
The local nameserver version will show in the system logs messages file after the update
as "starting BIND 9.3.5-P1". Note that larger sites should already be using upstream
name servers. After updating a system restart is required to load the new name server

March 28 2008 Time Zone update includes new country codes
Important note: This update can be installed onto any revision system
Any systems supplied in the last 6 months are eligible for the time zone update
which brings in the new daylight savings times for NZ & AU along with other

The updated Netconfig utility has added a 'Unit Cluster ID' option setting with
values of 1 to 252 with typical clusters built using 2 or more IA250 access
controllers with clusters of up to 16 providing for 4,000 authenticated users
per zone. Considerably larger user numbers are controlled within each zone
using the 'one account to many users' subnet account control features.
Clusters of up to 63,000 subnet or user accounts are available.

The 3.00a2 update adds options for static access codes as an alternative to the one time
access codes as well as an option to generate and print the static access code lists.
A menu option to run the 'Check For and cleanup unlinked Access Codes and Mac address's
function has been added to the Web Billing Admin Setup Functions, note this job is still
run each day during the midday housekeeping job.
The Netconfig utility has added a configuration option for a Network Time Protocol NTP
server which is used to correct system time at system startup and each day.

the update file name and must be installed using the 'Licensed Software Update' function in the Netconfig Utility.
The 3.00a1 software includes split speed bandwidth controls and forms the base for the 3.00 series.
